My name is Silas Wuyep, a proud Nigerian from a family of five. At sixteen, I discovered my passion for music and began my journey in 2006 with a group called Def Crew. We started small, performing at local shows, but soon gained recognition and went on tour. By 2010, we released our first album, a milestone that marked the peak of our early success. However, life took a sharp turn. Our record label collapsed, and what once felt like a dream became a struggle. My partner had to enlist in the military to survive, while I faced days where even two meals were hard to come by. I withdrew from the spotlight, weighed down by disappointment. Despite these challenges, I pursued education and graduated in Public Administration. Yet, my love for music never faded. It has always been more than a passion — it’s my identity. Today, I am determined to rise again, not just for myself but to prove to those who doubted me that resilience and talent cannot be silenced. That is why, when I saw this audition, I seized the opportunity. For me, it is more than a stage — it is a chance to reclaim the lamplight and show the world that Silas Wuyep is back, stronger and ready to shine.
